Who else loves an UPDATED Makeup look? — Trying to products & implementing them into your makeup regime..

Today, I wanted to share with you a basic overview of products that I have use over & over again. Some of these items I can quickly throw on or something to give me a flawless Glam finish.

I have broken down the items into sections, so it’s easier to understand what/why I use the products.

To anyone that is new to makeup, please don’t be frightened by the products. — You’re more than happy to take a piece of information from this blog & simplify it to products that you already have :)

Step 1: !BROWS BROWS! BROWS!

When I want to either wear a full face of makeup or go ‘nat-ur-al’, I will always start with brows. Why, because the brows frame the face & are my pride & joy. haha.

Before I fill in my brows, I always give them a quick ‘fix &Groom’, using tweezers, cuticle cutters & a spoolie brush.

I jump into using my:

  • LOREAL— HIGH CONTOUR BROW ARTIST — ‘Cool Brunette’

then cleaning up the edges with….

  • NYX — PUSH UP BRA — Eye Pencil (using the light pink)

to set my brows…

  • LOREAL — BROW ARTIST PLUMPER — Transparent

(this is like using hairspray for your hair; it locks it in place)

With brows, I can go on with my day-to-day only having them filled in, without having to do my makeup :)

STEP 2: FACE TIME!

Before I place any foundation on, I want to make sure that my skin is primed.

Primer is a product that creates a layer between the skin & the makeup. It’s a great way to reduce the amount of dirt & makeup entering the pores, as well as sinking into any fine lines. Another great reason to use primer, is that it helps the foundation to glide on smoothly, preventing streakiness & blotchiness.

Primer for my skin:

  • AUSTRALIS — Blemish Buster, Acne Fighting Primer.

COLOUR CORRECTOR:

  • MAYBELLINE — MASTER Camo — 05 ‘Apricot’

I like using a colour corrector BEFORE applying foundation. This will help reduce overly-red skin, giving it a flawless tone under the foundation. I would also place the colour corrector under my eyes (to reduce the appearance of dark circles).

FOUNDATION:

  • Maybelline — SuperStay Full Coverage — no.21 — ‘Nude Beige’

My preference for skin coverage, I will always reach for a product thats got full coverage. A great thing about this foundation, is that I only need 2–3 pumps for my whole face & along my neckline.

CONCEALER:

  • Rimmel — LASTING FINISH Breathable Concealer — no.001 — ‘Light Ivory’

When it comes to concealers, I will always use a shade that is lighter than my foundation. This would then be ideal if you wanted to place this on the area’s of your face where you want it to be lightened. In my case, I will place triangular-like shapes UNDER my eyes, under the hollows of my cheekbones, centre of my forehead, cupid’s bow & on my chin.

This sounds like a lot but trust me, its actually ‘easier DONE than said’, haha!

FACE/SETTING POWDERS:

All over (foundation):

  • MAYBELLINE — Loose Finishing Powder — no. 15. ‘Light’

Selected area’s (concealer):

  • Maybelline — SUPERSTAY Longwear Powder — no. 10 — ‘Ivory’

STEP 3: EYE TIME!

EYES:

  • NYX — LID LINGERIE — no. 01

This step is super basic. If I was only having my brows filled in, I will ONLY use the light beige shade over the entire lid.

My GO-TO look, I will dive into the peach shade, for the lid & either the deep brown OR the maroon for the crease.

To blend the shadows in the crease, I always use a shadow-blending brush.

See, that easy :)

STEP 4: MASCARA/S

LASH PRIMER:

  • Benefit ‘THEY’RE REAL’ Tinted primer

LASH COAT:

  • MAYBELLINE — COLOSSAL — Big Shot Mascara

STEP 5: BRONZER, BLUSH & HIGHLIGHT

BRONZER:

  • Chi Chi Cosmetics — JUMBO BRONZER — ‘Mediterranean Queen’

BLUSH:

BH Cosmetics — 10 PRO. COLOR Blush palette

HIGHLIGHTER:

  • Hourglass — Ambient Lighting powder — ’Euphoric’

No matter if I wanted a full coverage foundation look or something simple & sheen, I will ALWAYS stick to this trio.

Using my favourite bronzer, this will give my skin that healthy sun glow. The formula works great for my olive complexion.

Bronzer’s are also a great saavy product to use on your eyes & a brow filler. I know, cray cray, right?!

With blushes, I like to use peach-undertone pigments. The tone gives my skin a plump & young looking appearance, without making me look daunt or dead, haha!

The best way to determine which blush/bronzer etc, works best for you is if your skin is either; a cool, a neutral or a warm undertone.

Highlighters, now these can be changed around but, I am currently loving the natural’ish highlighters. These types of highlighters would have a sheer-light/medium coverage.

FINAL STEP: SETTING TIME!

SETTING SPRAY:

  • MAYBELLINE— MASTER FIX — WearBoosting Setting Spray

If you’re not sure what this does, its simply a HAIRSPRAY but for your face. It keeps the makeup in place & is less likely to flake away, wear away or melt away throughout your day. Omg, that rhymed! haha.

And there we have it. Simple steps that I go by whenever I wanna throw on some makeup :)

I would LOVE to know what products you use in your makeup collection.

As I said before, if you’re new to makeup & aren’t sure where to start, begin with simple mascara, brow gel & lip balm. By the time you know it, you’ll be a pro at makeup & looking even GORG’ER’ER!!!! (hehe)
